A Ghanaian nurse practising in the United Kingdom has died following a jet-ski accident while on holiday in Albania. The event occurred on the 1st of this month near the Kavaja Rock area in Albania.
According to sources, the victim known as S.O (to preserve family privacy) recently migrated to England not more than a year ago. He was a former student of Psychiatric Nurses Training College, Ankaful.
S.O was part of a group of nurses who went on a vacation in Albania. What was supposed to be a fun holiday turned out to be a tragedy. Information indicated that on the 1st of June 2025, S.O with colleague V.B were sailing on a jet ski when they lost control during manoeuvres and fell into the water. The Border police received information and went in to retrieve them from the water to the hospital emergency team on the port. Unfortunately, S.O lost his life while his colleague V.B was transferred to the hospital in a critical condition.
The tragedy has sent shock waves through the global Ghanaian nursing diaspora, prompting an outpouring of condolences.
