MALE NURSE, ISMAEL PUMI BASHIRU SHOT DEAD BY ARMED ROBBERS

Ismael Pumi Bashiru, a 31-year-old nurse has been shot by armed robbers. The incident occurred in the morning of June 20, 2021, while he was traveling on the Tili stretch of the Bolga-Bawku Road in the Zebilla District of the Upper East Region.

He was shot multiple times in the face at close range. He was rushed to the Zebilla District Hospital and subsequently referred to Tamale Teaching Hospital where he finally passed on this afternoon.

The Upper East Regional Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Police Service ASP David Fianko-Okyere confirmed the sad incident

A similar incident occurred a few months ago where a female nurse, Erica Edufa, was also shot dead by armed robbers while 3 others were severely wounded during a robbery attack on the Subinso -Nchiraa road.

MINISTRY OF HEALTH RESUMES SELLING OF NURSING ADMISSION FORMS

The Ministry of Health wishes to inform the general public that the sale of Admission Codes to the various Health Training Institutions will start from Monday 3rd April to Monday 29th May, 2017. The total cost of forms for the 2017/2018 Academic Year has been reduced from GH₵160 to GH₵100. This implies that there will be no hidden charges like the cost of verification of results and the sale of EMS Envelopes. The Ministry wishes to inform all prospective applicants that this year’s application will be done online. The sale of Codes will be done at all branches of ADB Banks and GCB Banks nationwide. Adverts, providing information on instructions to follow, would be published in the National Dailies prior to the start of the sale of the Codes. FOUR FINAL YEAR NURSING STUDENTS INVOLVED IN GORY ACCIDENT

Four final year nursing students of Sunyani-Tanoso Nursing Training College in the Brong Ahafo Region met their untimely death when the car they were traveling in from Sunyani to Tanoso crashed into a tree. According to the Police, the driver lost control of the steering wheel which resulted in the vehicle veering off the road and as a result, crashed into a tree. “Around 12:30 today the Police had information that there had been an accident on the Sunyani Abesim road. The Police proceeded to the scene and found a Nissan Primera private car with registration number, A 486-13 having been involved in an accident. We found the car in a resultant position with all the four tyres facing upwards. So with support from those around, we managed to rescue the occupants.” “There were four females in the car and a driver. They all sustained various degrees of injuries and they were rushed to the regional hospital for admission. In the course of being attended to, the four females passed on, leaving the driver who is currently an admission at the regional hospital. Currently the bodies have been deposited at the Regional hospital morgue awaiting autopsy,” Head of the Brong Ahafo Regional MTTD, Superintendent Daniel Oppong Asirifi in an interview with Citi News.
