The Government of Ghana has signed an agreement with the Government of Grenada for the recruitment of nurses. Applications are sought from experienced, dynamic and committed individuals for a challenging yet highly rewarding professional opportunity in Grenada.

The following specialties are needed:

• Critical Care Nurses 
• Accident and Emergency Nurses
• Public Health Nurses
• General Nurses 

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCES

(i) The Applicant should meet the regulatory requirements of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana,

(ii) Applicants should have at least five (5) years working experience.

NHS Highland has announced that they are seeking experienced international nurses for a permanent position at Caithness General Hospital in Wick.

The role is within the Rosebank Ward, which is described as a busy acute admission ward featuring a three-bedded high dependency unit. This position is specifically for international nurses who are required to sit and pass their OSCE exam to obtain full NMC registration. Note that this post is not open to candidates who already hold full NMC registration.

The NHS Highland as part of this exciting opportunity we will support you through a fully funded in-house, person-centred education programme to prepare for your NMC Test of Competence Part 2 (OSCE) exam and obtain your full UK NMC registration. A preparatory OSCE Education Programme will be delivered by the North of Scotland International Recruitment team in collaboration with NHS Highland.

Candidates are required to have successfully undertaken the Test of Competence Part 1 (CBT) and must meet the necessary English language requirements for their NMC application. It was also specified that applicants must have twelve months of validity remaining on both of these certificates.

Successful candidates will begin as a Band 4 Pre-Registration (International) Nurse and will then progress to a Band 5 Registered Nurse upon obtaining their registration. Interested candidates can apply here.

The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana has issued a stern public notice addressing the alarming rise of unprofessional conduct among nursing and midwifery students, midwives, and practitioners on social media. The Council highlights disturbing social media publications and videos involving trainees, nurses, and midwives that depict conduct grossly unprofessional and in direct contravention of the Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct governing the Nursing and Midwifery professions.

The Council expresses significant concern regarding several key issues:

• The misuse of the Nursing and Midwifery uniform in the creation of social media content that purports to educate the public or fellow practitioners without due authorization.
• The use of abusive, derogatory, and offensive language directed at leadership and other stakeholders.
• The dissemination of misleading or unverified health information under the guise of professional advice.

The Nursing and Midwifery Council wishes to remind all students and practitioners that the Nursing and Midwifery professions are founded on the principles of integrity, respect, professionalism, and ethical responsibility. The Council emphasizes that any conduct undermining these values not only tarnishes the image of the profession but also erodes public trust in the healthcare system.

Furthermore, the Council reiterates that it holds the exclusive mandate to accredit institutions and license individuals to practice as Nurse Assistants, Nurses, and Midwives in Ghana. Consequently, no individual or group is permitted to provide public education or professional guidance under the guise of the Council without prior approval or accreditation.

All students and practitioners are hereby cautioned to desist from engaging in any form of unprofessional conduct, particularly on social media platforms. The Council warns that it will not hesitate to invoke the necessary disciplinary measures, including suspension or revocation of licenses, against any individual found culpable of breaching the professional Code of Conduct.

The Council urges all stakeholders to uphold the dignity and sanctity of the Nursing and Midwifery professions and to report any such misconduct to the Council for appropriate action.
